I wouldn’t use this next Windows XP Tip and Trick if you use the Windows Search a lot. Indexing Services is a tiny Windows program that uses a large amount of RAM . If you hear your system making a lot of noise and he’s terribly slow then your system is indexing his files. It does this so that when you do a search for something on your computer, it will search faster by scanning the index lists first.
If you do know where your files are then I would disable this program to make windows XP much faster. It will really make a difference.
Follow the next steps to disable the indexing services.
-
Go to start.
-
Click on settings.
-
Open your Control Panel.
-
Double click on the Add or Remove Programs icon.
-
Select Add/Remove Window Components.
-
Checkmark the Indexing services.
-
Click next and finish

I hope you’ll enjoy your faster Windows XP.
