Changing the look of your Windows XP machine is something that’s easy to do and it’s fun. The easiest way to change the look is to change the desktop picture and rearranging the icons on your desktop.
Here are some tips on how to customize or personalize your desktop the easiest way possible.
To change the picture on your desktop follow the next steps.
-
Right click on an empty space on your desktop.
-
Click on properties.
-
Go to the desktop tab.
-
Select and standard wallpaper/background or click on browse and select one from your personal folders.
-
Click Apply and OK

If you want to rearrange your icons here’s a cool trick to start from scratch.
-
Right click on an empty space on your desktop.
-
Click on properties.
-
Go to the settings tab.
-
Select a lower resolution
-
Click apply .
-
And select your old resolution and click apply and OK.
Now all the icons are in the upper left corner and you can start all over again with arranging your icons.
One last side note: You see in the picture that I’m using from the properties window that I’m using another Colour than the standard Windows XP blue. This happened when I changed my XP Theme. Ill show you how to do that in one of the next articles. This is also a great way to customize your Windows XP or Vista operating system.
