Computer Tips, Tricks, Tweaks and Tutorials - Create a Shortcut to Open Microsoft Word With Out a Blank Page.

The next Word Tip and Trick was submitted a while ago in the article about Microsoft Word’s 30 most used keyboard combinations/shortcuts and hotkeys . Steve Roberts asked me here if I knew an option for opening Microsoft 2007 without a blank page. I didn’t know a solution immediately but Steve found a solution for it pretty quick.

If you want to create a shortcut to open Microsoft Word with out a blank page you’ll need to do this.

  • Go to your desktop.
  • Right click
  • Go to new
  • And select Shortcut
  • Now go to this location “c:\programs files\Microsoft Office\Office 12\winword.exe”.

And click on next and OK.

Now right click on your desktop shortcut and choose properties.

Now you need to write in your target field behind the last" a /n so it will look like this " /n.
