And it’s Monday; I hope you all had a great weekend!! And I hope you all are ready for some great Microsoft Vista Tips and Tricks because I have some cool tricks lined up for you this week.
The first Tip and Trick is this one. Vista is “great” but sometimes we get a bit annoyed with all the security settings and pop-ups. I know security is needed but we don’t have to be all paranoid about it. If you are using Internet Explorer then you’ve probably seen the message that you’ve lowered your security settings many times. And to me that popup is just as annoying as a computer that didn’t disable the User Account Control – UAC.
To turn of the popup “you lowered your security settings” you’ll need to take the following steps.
· Go to Start
· Type in gpedit.msc in the search field.
· And press enter.
And here we go: If you haven’t the disabled your User Account Control – UAC, you’ll see a pop-up asking you for permission.

Now your Group Policy Object Editor is opened.
· Go to Local Computer Policy
· Then Computer Configuration
· Then Administrative Templates
· And Windows Components
· And finally Internet Explorer.
· Now you need to double click on “Turn off the Security Settings Check feature”.

· Now you need to set it to Enabled.
· Click Apply and OK

And that’s it; your computer isn’t paranoid anymore (well he is but you don’t see it;)). Anyway I hope you all like this Vista Tip and Trick. I have another cool Vista Trick for you tomorrow; hopefully ill see you tomorrow!!
