Did your hard disk die, got a virus or was your laptop stolen?? Now you whished you’ve backed it up earlier don’t you? First you should plug-in your external HD because you can’t keep the back-up on your C:\ drive (or you have to work in a network).
For creating a Backup schedule of your Vista files you’ll need to take the following steps.
· Go to Start
· Type in Backup
· And press Enter

· Now click on Back up files.
If you haven’t the disabled your User Account Control – UAC, you’ll see a pop-up asking you for permission.

· Select a location for saving your Backup.
· Click on Next
· Now you can select all the files that you want.
· And again, click on Next

You can select a schedule in the next window. Make sure you pick a time that you are not working with your computer. That’s for me Monday morning 10am because I’m still in bed around that time;).

Click on Save Settings and start Backup and you’re good to go.
If you are a heavy computer user like me than I suggest that you do a full System backup once every 3 – 4 months.
Okay that’s it for today’s Vista Tip. Tomorrows Tip and Trick is also a Vista Tip that also has to do with back-ups and restores. But sure to check you’re e-mail. Ill talk to you all tomorrow, have a great day.
