I just wanted to let you know why things have been so silent around here. Things are pretty messed up here in the Netherlands.

 

I run my blogs from home in a really great home office; I broke a several walls down and combined the rooms into one large office which is really a fantastic place to work.  

 

The problem is this; my Internet Service Provider was Speedlinq but this company was taken over by Telfort and they would be my new ISP. When I was notified about this I contacted Speedlinq and they guaranteed me that the transfer would go flawless. In the years that Speedlinq was my ISP I never had any problems with them and now that I’m with Telfort I’m already offline since the end of June!!

Close All and Save All Word 2007 Hotkey!

Yesterday I wrote an article called Save All and Close All Commands in Word Including MS Word 2007. In this article I showed you how to add the Close All and Save All buttons to your toolbar.

But there is also a way that I didn’t think of but Erik Mulder did think of it. Erik send me an e-mail with a pointer that it is possible to add a hotkey and it works practically in the same way as yesterdays tutorial.

 

Follow these steps if you want to create a hotkey for the Close All and Save All commands.

Save All and Close All Commands in Word Including MS Word 2007.

In the previous version of Microsoft Word you just have to press the Shift key and hold it when you click on the File menu and the menu displays the Save All and Close All commands. This is a pretty handy trick.

 

But unfortunately these commands are not available on the Word 2007 Ribbon; you will need to add these commands to the Quick Access toolbar to use them.

 

The easiest way to do this is by clicking the small down arrow to the right of the Quick Access toolbar and selecting More Commands.

Outlook Optimizing Tutorials nr.10 Automatically Archive Your Incoming Mail Into a Specific Folder.

Hi all, today I have another Outlook optimizing Tutorial lined up for you. In general the only folder that I use is my unread mail folder. But I do use the other folders and mainly for archiving and organizing. I use many e-mail accounts since I have for practically all my blogs and sites separate addresses. Per day I receive a pretty amazing number of e-mails that I all want to archive (if I don’t delete them right away).

 

Since I don’t want to move each incoming e-mail to the right folder I’ve set the archiving on automatic and with this I mean that I have Outlook set that Outlook places all incoming e-mails for one specific address like “vincent@example.com” in the folder called “example”.

I Can Not Find My USB Drive In Vista.

Normally when you insert a USB drive into your computer you should hear a beep/sound and your USB flash drive should automatically appear in the device list of your computer. That is what should happen but sometimes it happens that your USB drive is not showing there. The most common reason that your USB drive isn’t showing is that your system assigns a drive letter to it that already is in use.

 

I couldn’t find my USB Drive and this is what happened to me.

Earlier this week I received a blog post with a really genius tweak from a blog where I’m subscribed too. If you are not subscribed to this blog you better hurry up and do so because this blog is great. It’s called How-To Geek and it’s kind of a similar blog as this one.

 

How-To is more a blog with advanced tweaks for the geeks among us and this blog is a blog with useful tweaks that everyone can use and is more for everyday use. How-To is several years old and is a real authority in the geek sector and we are just starting out since this blog is only 6 months old.
