If you right click on a cell it’s possible to format the Cells to a chosen currency. But it’s also possible to use the Dollar function to convert the Cells.
To convert the Numbers in Excel into the Dollar currency you need to follow the next 3 steps.
-
Open your Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and enter numeric values into Cell A2:A10.
-
Select the Cells B2:B10 and type the following formula =Dollar(A2) or =Dollar(A2.2)
The A is the refrence to the Cell that calculates the formula and the .2 is the number of decimals. When this is not entered in the formula Microsoft Excel calculates with 2 decimals.
-
Than press “CTRL+Enter”

As you can see, our Microsoft Excel standard setting is in Euros, this Excel Formula can be used in every desired currency.
