I know that some people use these buttons/icons everyday but today’s XP Tip & Trick isn’t useful for everyone. Today I want to show you how can make a desktop icon for a quick computer restart.
We used this method in the article where I showed you how to Create a XP Shutdown Button on Your Desktop.
This is how you make a desktop icon for a quick computer restart.

Right click on an empty space on your desktop.

Select new and shortcut.

Now type in the window shutdown -r -t 0 (the last character is a zero.)
Now you should have a desktop icon for a quick computer restart.

Most people open a webpage with double clicking the IE button on their desktop or via start. Then when IE starts you’ll first get your default homepage and then you’ll have to open the page that you really want. The same goes for a location on your hard disk on in your network.
