Hi folks, I hope you all had a great weekend. I did; Lonneke and I had a great weekend. We went out and saw a movie and just enjoyed each other’s company instead of working all weekend. Although I did some writing for my blogs, it sure is great having a normal weekend. I would almost miss my normal 9 – 5 job where I had a “guarantied” weekend. No no, just kidding, I wouldn’t trade my life as it is, I love being a blogger. Okay before I really continue this personal rambling its back to business, you guys are here for some useful Tips and Tricks and not waiting for my personal babbling;).
Merge multiple Word Documents into One and do Some Tricks.
In the last couple of months we covered some great Microsoft Word Tips and Tricks. Some of my favorites were Working with Word 2007’s Building Blocks, Using the Drop Cap for a Professional Look and the article for Navigation Quicker in Microsoft Word. But none of these tips are as “magical” as this Word Tip and Trick.
What do you do if you need to have the content of multiple MS Word documents in one document?
You probably open all the files and select all the content, click on CTRL+C and then CTRL+V in the new document. This is a way but there is another option.
I have these two document called page1.doc and page2.doc.
Customizing the Bullets in the earlier versions of Microsoft Word.
You are all paying attention!! Yesterday I published an article about changing or customizing the bullets in Microsoft Word. Within the time span of 4 hours I received 3 e-mails with the question if I could write as normal an additional tutorial for the earlier MS Word versions instead of only for Word 2007. I’m really proud of you all. Of course I want to help you out!!
Here’s the Tutorial for changing the bullets in the earlier MS Word Versions.
· First you need to go to the format menu.
· And select Bullets and Numbering.
· From the Bulleted tab select the bullets you desire.

Okay guys, the next Tip and Trick is one Cool Word Tip and Trick. Most of us know how to use the Bullets in Microsoft Word but did you know that you could change them in any type you want?
· The bullets look
· great in a
· Word document.
But as you can see these are pretty boring bullets.

Create a Shortcut to Open Microsoft Word With Out a Blank Page.
The next Word Tip and Trick was submitted a while ago in the article about Microsoft Word’s 30 most used keyboard combinations/shortcuts and hotkeys . Steve Roberts asked me here if I knew an option for opening Microsoft 2007 without a blank page. I didn’t know a solution immediately but Steve found a solution for it pretty quick.
If you want to create a shortcut to open Microsoft Word with out a blank page you’ll need to do this.
-
Go to your desktop.
-
Right click
-
Go to new
-
And select Shortcut
-
Now go to this location “c:\programs files\Microsoft Office\Office 12\winword.exe”.

Hyperlink problem: don’t display the code!
Today I would like to talk about a Microsoft Word Tip and Trick. This question was send to me this weekend by Renate. She has a problem with the Hyperlinks in Microsoft Word. I also needed it once and I was desperate for a solution that I then couldn’t find. It can happen that you open MS Word and that your hyperlinks are shown like below with a code. This showing the code is often triggered by use of a quick key or combination or several keys.
If you’re Word documents are shown with hyperlink codes than this is a really great Word Tip that can solve a lot of frustration.
This is how your hyperlinks are shown.
