To continue with the series Fix it, Clean it and make it last. We first need to know what Windows Cleaning Tools we should actually use. There are many Microsoft and Non-Microsoft programs of which most of them are real garbage and will only do more harm to your system.

I already discussed one good piece of software that we are going to use and that is a third party software and this can be found in the Clean Up the live messenger window article. However this only serves Windows Live Messenger and this series is more intended for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

In this part of the series I only want to show you where to find the best online tools and where to find your System Tools.

Where can you find the online Windows Cleaning Tools?

My favourite is Sysinternals which is now called Microsoft TechNet. As you can read on the front page Microsoft acquired Sysinternals in July 2006. The site is quite cluttered and it’s pretty difficult to find here what you need but it sure is a great site to find some good cleaning tools. If we need any tools from here ill show you’ll the way for if you can’t find them. The other site that I sometimes check is major geeks. This is a site with a lot of cool stuff for cleaning and upgrading your system.  Go check them out, their both real good resources with lots of freeware.

Where to find your Windows Cleaning and Maintenance Tools?

There is a great pack within your system; you only need to make sure that you can access them. Microsoft is hiding them from you. Follow the next steps to let your system show you all your maintenance tools.

  • Go to any empty space in your taskbar and right click.
  • Select Properties.
  • Go to the start menu tab.
  • And select customize.
  • Now you need to scroll down till you see System Administrative Tools.
  • Now you need to select Display on the all Programs Menu and Click OK
  • And to finalize this you need to click apply in the properties window and than click OK.

If you want to check if you did this correct, you’ll need to go to start and than all programs where you should see a folder called Administrative Tools.
